Arike Ogunbowale

Arike Ogunbowale plays American professional basketball player for the Dallas Wings of the Women's National Basketball Association. She played for Notre Dame Fighting Irish in college, before she was selected as the fifth pick overall by the Wings in the 2019 WNBA draft. Arike Ogunbowale was born in Milwaukee Wisconsin on March 2 1997, was the daughter of Yolanda Ogunbowale as well as Gregory Ogunbowale. Mario Ogunbowale is her 26 year old brother and Dare Ogunbowale, 20 years older. Being the youngest of her siblings she was the most spoiled one with her mother and father. Her father Gregory was a soldier with the Nigerian Army for quite some time. Ogunbowale has a thriving family history. Ogunbowale took gold at the 2013 FIBA Americas U16 Championship as well as the 2013 FIBA U17 World Championship, and 2013 FIBA 3x3 U18 Championship. In July 2014 she was chosen to join the USA Youth Olympic Women's Basketball Team. Ogunbowale was also named for the ACC All-Freshman Team after her debut collegiate season. The coach even thanked the legendary Kobe Bryant after she hit many big shots during the NCCA Tournament. Ogunbowale, even though she is relatively new to the basketball game, is already establishing herself as an international star. She will surely succeed in her professional career.
